• His obituary was published in The Philadelphia Inquirer on 30 Apr 1993. CHARLES BEECROFT, 78, of Maple Shade, died Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden.
Mr. Beecroft was an inspector for the state Motor Vehicle Division, Cherry Hill inspection station for 11 years, retiring in 1979. A World War II Army veteran, he was a first lieutenant in the European theater and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors: his wife, Caroline Davis Beecroft; a daughter, Joan Newman of Pennsauken; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Hall of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Services: viewing, 10 a.m. today, Edward P. Leonard Jr. Funeral Home, 35th Street and River Avenue, Camden; funeral, 11 a.m. today at the funeral home; burial, New Camden Cemetery, Camden.
