• His obituary was published in the Breeze Courier. Harold Furgeson, 72, of Nokomis, passed away at 3:15pm on Sunday, December 17, 2006 in his residence. He was born on August 23, 1934 in Taylorville, the son of Kester & Mary (McGarvey)Furgeson. He married Leona Beacraft on December 24, 1958 in Taylorville. She preceded him in death 2000. He then married Delores Britton on September 9, 2004 in Montgomery County. He was retired from Peabody Coal Mine 10.

He is survived by his son: Kester (wife Tanya) Furgeson of Nokomis, step-son: Alex Smith of Taylorville, step-daughters: Wendy (husband Len) Bren of Colorado, Donna Miller(companion Dennis Ralston) of Nokomis, 8 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister & 6 nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1st wife.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11:00am in Sutton Memorial Home in Nokomis with Pastor Kenneth Morell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday, December 22, 206 in Sutton Memorial Home.

• Her obituary was published. Leona M. Furgeson, 75, of Taylorville died at 5:22 pm Friday, October 13, 2000, at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 28, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of Bill and Nellie Powers Beecraft. She married Harold Furgeson on December 24, 1958, in Taylorville. She was a retired homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Nokomis.

Surviving are her husband Harold; children: Alex Smith, Jr., of Taylorville, Kester (wife Tanya) Furgeson of Taylorville and Susan Nolan of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Beecraft of Springfield; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside rites will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 16, 2000, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, with Rev. Kenneth Morrell officiating. There will be no visitation. Sutton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
