THOMASTON \emdash Frederick W. Morgan, 89, of Thomaston, widower of Grace (Becroft) Morgan, died on Friday (June 8, 2012) at Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth.

Fred was born in Cheshire on Aug. 2, 1922 and was the youngest of nine children of the late Thomas and Amy Morgan. A longtime Thomaston resident, he was a United States Army veteran of World War II and worked for Lux Time Corp. in Waterbury before retiring.

He is survived by two sons, Frederick H. Morgan of Goshen and David J. Morgan of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, John Morgan.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (June 12, 2012) at 1 p.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Thomaston. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday between 12 noon and 1 p.m.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Waterbury on March 23, 1921 and was the only child of the late Harold and Grace (Dwyer) Becroft. A longtime Thomaston resident, she served as the Dog Warden in Thomaston for 22 years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Morgan is survived by two sons, Frederick Morgan of Goshen, and David J. Morgan of Dingmans Ferry, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Monday (November 8, 2010) at 11 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Thomaston. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday between 10 and 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Thomaston K-9 Officer Waldron, 158 Main St., Thomaston, CT 06787.
