BECROFT Albert W. Becroft III, age 67 of Pawcatuck, husband of Veronica (Maher) Becroft, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital New London. Born August 8, 1939 in New Haven, a son of the late Albert W. Becroft Jr., and Madeline V. (Shaw) Becroft Mr. Becroft was a heavy equipment mechanic for MacNick Bro's in Old Lyme and also worked for D'Amato Bro's in Stonington and Milford. He was a member of the Pawcatuck VFW, American Legion, Boy Scouts, Quacataug Rangers, Groton sportsman club. Besides his loving wife, he leaves a son, Albert W. Becroft IV of Pawcatuck; a sister, Carol Hart of Middletown; two brothers, Gary Becroft (Ann) of Milford and Kevin Becroft of North Carolina. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home 121 Main St., Westerly, RI. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Pawcatuck. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts c/o 22 Somerset Drive, Pawcatuck, CT 06379.

Becroft, III. Born in Fairfield, CT on January 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Vera (Marak) Maher. She will be dearly missed by her son Albert "Alex" W. Becroft, IV and several nieces and nephews.
The Bercroft family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 10 AM to 12PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI., seating capacity limits, social distancing guidelines and other public health directives (i.e., use of facemasks and maximum of 15 people in the building at any given time and no large gatherings in the parking lot) will be in place. A graveside service will be held following the calling hours on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the new St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck, CT.
