Events

• Her obituary was published in the Skagit Valley Herald on 10 Oct 2013. Brenda Becraft, 67, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, September 28, 2013 from her home in Everett, WA after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born November 5, 1945 by mother Beulah (Dills) Woods (Smith) and father Major Woods in Franklin, NC.

At age 9 her grandmother, mother and she moved to Hamilton, WA.

In the 7th grade she met Steve Becraft whom she married in her senior year at Sedro-Woolley High School on January 16, 1964. They made their home in Sedro-Woolley where she had their 4 children Jerry, Ray, David and Tami.

In 1975 they moved to Mountlake Terrace, WA and for the next 28 years raised her family there until moving to Everett, WA in 2003.

She loved the Lord and she loved her family. She lived her life to please God and to show her children the right way. She saw the good in everyone and always put other's needs before her own.

She had a heart for children and loved them with the love of Christ. She was a natural teacher. She started teaching Sunday School at age 14 and wen on to teach her own children in Sunday school.

She was a homemaker until at age 56 she started teaching preschool and went on to get her certificate in Early Childhood Education at Edmonds Community College.

She was a loving and attentive wife, mother, daughter and grandma. She was beloved by her family and all that knew her. She will be terribly missed.

She was preceded in death by grandmother Hassie Dills, mother Beulah (Dills) Smith and stepfather Rev. "T.T." Smith.

She is survived by husband, of just short of 50 years, Steve Becraft, sons Jerry, Ray and David Becraft, daughter Tami (Terry) Dunlop and grandchildren Ashley, Rachel, Brittany, Ray, Steve, and Blake Becraft plus two sisters Loretta Stout of Rainier, OR and Linda Mae Maples of Kelso, WA.

A memorial service will be set at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ovarian cancer research.
