• Her obituary was published. Shirley A. Converse 72, a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away at 9:50 am Saturday, October 15 in Indianapolis.

Shirley was born December 20, 1938 in Rushville, IN to Lowell and Dorothy (Applegate) Becraft both deceased. She was a graduate of Rushville High School in the class of 1957.

Shirley retired after 30 yrs. with the state of Indiana as an Employment Specialist and later worked at the Holiday Inn Express breakfast bar in Rushville.

Shirley was active in many organizations including, Hint Hunters Homemakers Club, board member of Habitat for Humanity, a founding member of The Association for Retarded Citizens, Beta Sigma Phi member, American Legion Aux., Moose Lodge #17 in Indianapolis, Red Hat Society and the BPW of Rushville.

Shirley was a former member of First Southern Baptist Church and a current member of Christ Fellowship Church.

Shirley leaves behind a daughter, Kimberly (& husband Michael) Rankin of Rushville, a ½ bother Paul Yorn II of Richmond, IN, a brother Steve Becraft and companion Roberta of Rushville, two sisters, June Ellen Bartlett of San Francisco, CA and Melissa Becraft of Rushville, 4 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 8 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by Gerald Converse and 1 great grandchild, Jordan Hill.

Pastor Jason Cupp will preside.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Business and Professional Women of Rushville, the American Heart or Diabetes Association's.
