Ruth Becraft Centers, age 78, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the Mary Childes Hospital, in Mt. Sterling. She was the widow of Elmer Centers. She was a retired nurses' aid at Mary Chiles Hospital and attended the Church of God. She was born July 23 1924 in Montgomery County to the late Turner and Jimmie Becraft.

Survivors are one son: Billy Henry Centers, of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren: Keith Centers, Mark Centers, Kevin Centers, Bobby Joe McCarty and Bobby Joe Davis, all of Mt. Sterling; two great-grandchildren: Chase Centers and Cameron Centers, of Mt. Sterling; and two nieces: Dora Payne, of Mt. Sterling, and Maude Stull, of Owingsvile.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lloyd Latimer officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
