PEORIA -- Robert L. Becraft Sr., 57, of 1614 W. Margaret Ave. died at 10:01 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 1994, at Proctor Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1937, in Peoria to John Edward and Etta Schockley Becraft, he married Judith S. Foster on Feb. 3, 1974, in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Robin D. Gleason of Georgetown, Rose Shearer of Deltona, Fla., and Jennifer Hicks of Morton; two sons, Robert L. Jr. of Germantown Hills and John E. of Peoria; two stepsons, Kerry Short and Kelly Short, both of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Kirsty Abel of Peoria; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Doris Becraft of Orlando, Fla.; and two brothers, Dick of Bellevue and LeRoy of Peoria.
The former chief of security for Peoria School District 150, he retired in 1992. He joined the Peoria police force in 1960 and was an officer for 11 years. He was the owner of Peoria Answering Service Inc. and Radio Paging of Illinois Inc. He was a past president of the Peoria Police Benevolent Association and a member of the National Association of Police Chiefs.
He was a member of Rotary International and South-West Kiwanis Club of Peoria.
He also was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Nancy was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Peoria to Gerald Phillip and Katherine (Bennett) Myer.
Survivors include two sons, John (Robin) Becraft of Fairmount and Robert Lee (Lori) Becraft Jr. of Metamora, Ill.; three daughters, Robin Dee (Leo) Speakman of Danville, Jennifer Lee (Kevin) Hicks of Washington, Ill., and Rosanne Elizabeth Shearer of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Robert L. Myer of Danville; one sister, Joann Gorman; and several grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy had been communications supervisor at the Danville Public Safety Building for 20 years. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking, gardening and, most of all, her cat, Munch.
