He worked at NIPSCO for 39 years and proudly served in the United States Army. He attended all of his Grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't speak proudly of his family. He was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed gardening.
Richard is survived by his loving Wife of 62 years Patricia (Fischer) "Patty Rose", 3 Daughters, Karen (Dennis) Myers, Kim Wiseman and Cheri Brooks; Grandchildren Amber, Brandon, Zachary Sr., Matthew, Nick and Luke; Great Grandchildren Kinsley, Cecilia, Harrison, Graham, Josie, Lia, Zachary Jr., and Mason.
Richard was preceded in death by his son Richard Vincent Becraft, Jr., Grandson Jeff Brooks Jr., 9 Brothers and 2 Sisters. He was the youngest of the 12 children.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Ft Wayne, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will also be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the funeral home.
