Ida Florence Carpenter Becraft, 77 years old, died Monday, August 11, 2003 at Ridgeway Manor Nursing Home in Owingsville. Becraft was born January 24, 1926, to the late Willie Lee Carpenter and the late Agnes Kincaid Carpenter in Bath County. She was a retired upholsterer and a member of the Queen Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Emerson Becraft, of Mt. Sterling; one daughter: Roseanna Goforth, of Mt. Sterling; three sisters: Frances Jones, of Owingsville; Lorraine Phillips, of Lexington; and Mayme Rose, of Winchester; two brothers: Bill Carpenter, of Bath County; and Harlan Carpenter, of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren: Lisa Weaver and John Goins II, both of Mt. Sterling, and Kristi helton, of Frenchburg; four great-grandchildren: Matt Taulbee, Josh Weaver, Megan and Kyle Helton. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Billie Jean Becraft, 3 sisters, and four brothers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Herald and Stewart Funeral Home, with Dan Murphy officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
