• His obituary was published in The Ashland Sentinel in 1933. George William Guinn, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Guinn, was born in Browning, III., September 28, 1870 and departed this life here Nov. 15, 1933 at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 17 days.



His parents and eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death several years ago.



He was united in marriage to Nellie Becraft of Pleasant Plains, Ill., in 1901. To this union were born 11 children, two having preceded him in death several years ago.



He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and 9 children, David of Springfield, Gail of Ashland, Mrs. J. A. Boatman of Beardstown, Mrs. George Pallanti of Springfield, Milton, Eugene, Amy, Walter and Raymond all at home and one sister, Mrs. Mahala McCombs of Ashland; one grandson, George Pallanti Jr., 6 nieces and 2 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a kind, loving husband and father and was loved by all who knew him.

Funeral services for George Guinn were held at the M. E. church Thursday afternoon of last week, Rev. D. L. Jeffers officiating. Burial was in Ashland cemetery.



Those who cared for the floral offerings were Frances Way and Irene Pierce.



Music was furnished by Pearl Caswell and Annette Lohman, with Clarice Rearick at the piano.



The pallbearers were Paul Hammack, Frank Graff, Harry Edwards, Oscar Livengood, Joe Price and Cleve Clowers.

Ashland-Burial services were held in Ashland cemetery Monday afternoon for Mrs. Nellie Guinn, 73, a former Ashland resident who died Friday evening at Schmitt Memorial hospital, Beardstown. She had been ill for six months.
Services were held at the Cline Funeral home in Beardstown Monday.

Beardstown - Mrs. Nellie Guinn, 73, of Beardstown, formerly of Pleasant Plains and Ashland died at 6:35 p.m. Friday at Schmit Memorial hospital, following an illness of six months.
She was born in Island Grove township in 1881. Mrs. Guinn was a daughter of Walter and Mary Becraft. She was married to George W. Guinnin 1901.
Surviving are six sons, David, Springfield; Milton Martinsville; Eugene, Ravensden Springs, Ark; Walter, Raymond and Gail, all of Beardstown; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Little; Mrs. Amy mathis, both of Beardstown, and Mrs. Georgia Pallante, Jacksonville; 2 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Clint funeral home, where services were held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial was made in Ashland cemetery.
