Mrs. Pearl Jefferson, 76, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at Mrs. Fern Haney's nursing home at 630 S. Union St.
Mrs. Jefferson was born Feb. 18, 1880, in Greensburg, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Mary (Fromer) Becraft. She spent her early years in the Kokomo schools and was employed by the Thalman and Levi store until her marriage in 1904 to Orville Jefferson, who died in 1941. Her husband was for many years a photographer and artist in Kokomo.
The deceased joined the First Baptist Church in her early life. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge and Art Association.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mae) Spradling and Mrs. John (Elsie) Carter, both of Kokomo, and Mrs. Fred (Madge) Schlatter, of Syracuse, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude Becraft, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two nieces, Mrs. S. James Marner and Mrs. George Kroft, both of Kokomo, and two nephews, Raymond Becraft of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Robert Spradling, of Center, Ind. A brother, Harry, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jacobs Funeral Home with the Rev. J.M. Newsom in charge. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
