• His obituary was published. Fred Collins, 84, died peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at RWJUH-Somerset. Son of the late David and Angeline Collins, Fred was born in Green Township, Ohio and lived in Kentucky and South Bound Brook before settling in Hillsborough in 1965. Fred was an electrician and retired from Local 495 in North Carolina in 2000. He was a avid fisherman and handyman and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his wife, Lou Ann Collins in 2011.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his partner, Kathy Hagie of Hillsborough; his beloved children, Floyd Collins and wife, Sandra of PA, Melinda Collins of Hillsborough, NJ; grandchildren, Jeremy Rogers and wife, Kelly, Jason Rogers and wife, Cindy, Michael Giammarco, Jr. and wife, Kristin, and Jesse Collins; 5 great-grandchildren, Damien, Greyson, Madison, Ryan and Jordan; sisters, Phyllis Dunn and husband, Johnny of FL and Frances Tolle of Ohio.
Visiting hours will held from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
A graveside service will take place 10 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CHOP (The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia).

LouAnn Collins, 72, died on Friday September 9, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Prestonsburg, KY and grew up in Greenup, KY and had lived in Columbus, OH and South Bound Brook before settling in Hillsborough in 1965. Lou Ann retired after 38 years with the Hillsborough School System in food service management. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and NY City especially Broadway. LouAnn was a mother and grandmother to everyone and if you needed her she was always there for you. She was everyone's "angel."
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Fred, her sons, Floyd and his wife Sandra Collins of New Park, PA, Vinnie and his wife Linda Nastri of Manville, her daughter Melinda Collins of Hillsborough, her brother Jerry Becraft and his wife Vicki of AR., her 5 gradchildren Jeremy, Jason and his wife Donna, Jesse, Michael and Justin and her 3 great grandchildren, Damian Michael, Nicole and Bryanna.
A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10am in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 Rt. 206, Hillsborough. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Park, N. Brunswick. Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, as per Lou Ann's request, donations to offset medical expenses of her grandson Damian Michael Giammarco may be made to his family.
