Leonard L. Becraft, age 59 of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday March 30, 2010, at his residence. Born on May 3, 1950, in Connersville, he was the son of Leslie V. and Alice Mullins Becraft; both whom precede him in death.
As a child he attended the First Baptist Church of Laurel and was a graduate of Laurel High School. While in the U.S. Army, from 1967 to 1969, he served in Germany with the 1st Battalion, 51st Infantry. Upon his discharge from the Army, he worked at Stant Manufacturing for several years. He then worked for 23 years at Roots Blower Company and was currently employed at Rolls Royce in Indianapolis for the past 11 years. He had also worked part time at many of the local bars as a bartender. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working with classic cars and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky L. Miller Becraft, to whom he was married on July 20, 1991; two daughters, Kellie J. Becraft and Amanda L. Becraft, both of Connersville; a son, Eric Frye and his significant other, Jennifer Morehead of Connersville; Chrissy Getz, who he thought of as a daughter; two brothers and a sister in law, Leslie and Kay Becraft and Charles Becraft, all of Connersville; a sister and brother in law, Cheryll and Homer Isaacs of Connersville; a granddaughter, Alexys Crowe; his mother-in-law, Betty Miller of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Malea Gay Becraft; a brother, William Becraft; and his father-in-law, Winters "Babe" Miller.

Funeral services were held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Friday April 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Eric Hopkins officiating. Burial with military graveside services by the Fayette County Veterans Honor Guard was in Dale Cemetery. Friends and family called Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society.

CONNERSVILLE, Ind. -- Leonard L. Becraft, 59, of Connersville, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at his residence.
Born May 3, 1950, in Connersville to Leslie and Alice Mullins Becraft, the Army veteran worked at Stant Manufacturing, Roots Blower Co., Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis and as a bartender.
Survivors: wife, Vicky; daughters, Kellie and Amanda Becraft; son, Eric Frye; brothers, Leslie and Charles Becraft; sister, Cheryll Isaacs.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, with visitation 5-9 p.m. today.
