ROSEVILLE - Hester F. Becraft will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house hosted by her children and grandchildren from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Roseville United Methodist Church.
She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Trenton, to Rev. George and Winifred Fidler.
She married K. L. "Joe" Becraft on Dec. 18, 1934, in Littleton and, after making their home in the Huntsville area, moved to Roseville in 1938.
She is the mother of Jolece (and Irvin) Sprout, Roseville; Jerry (and Carol) Becraft, Baraboo, Wis.; and Nancy Becraft, LaGrange. She has seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend the open house. She requests that gifts be omitted.

Hester F. Becraft passed away March 21, 2014. She was born September 8th, 1915 in Trenton, IL to Rev. George and Winifred (Draper) Fidler. She was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Bath, IL High School in 1933. She married Kenneth (Joe) Becraft on December 18th, 1934, in Littleton, IL, moving to Roseville in 1938. He preceded her in death October 10, 1994.
Hester loved to tell that she was a P K (preacher's kid). She was active in the United Methodist Church throughout her life, a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church for 75 years. She served as Sunday School Superintendent, Director of Bible School and taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was a faithful member of the Women's organizations in the church. She also belonged to Roseville Woman's Club, MBC, Science and Art and WSCS. After losing a brother to Hodgkin's disease in 1959 she became active with the American Cancer Society on the State and National level.
Hester is survived in death by her three children, Jolece Sprout, Jerry (Carol) Becraft, and Nancy Becraft all of Roseville, and seven grandchildren; Cathy (Bob) Dwyer, Cindy (Terry) Davis, Fred Sprout, David (Jodi) Becraft, Ken Becraft, Steve (Jeanne) Becraft, and Dick (Jauna) Becraft. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, son-in-law Irvin Sprout and granddaughter-in-law Ellen Becraft.
Funeral service will be Wednesday April 2, 2014, 11:00 am at United Methodist Church, Roseville, IL; family will receive friends on Tuesday eve from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cormans Roseville, IL. Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Roseville United Methodist Church, Roseville Rehab Activity Department or Cystic Fibrosis.
