Kenneth Becraft, age 80, of Roy, passed away March 5, 2021, from natural causes. Ken was born on October 25, 1940 in Ogden, Utah.
Ken graduated from Ben Lomond High School and later received a BS in Music Education from Weber State College. He joined the Marine Corps and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the East Central States Mission. Ken's career focused in sales at Max Factor and management of the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery for Myers Mortuary.
Music played a central part of Ken's life from directing choirs to playing the piano and organ. He spent over 30 years conducting the Messiah Sing-in at the Ogden Tabernacle. Ken organized the first Institute Choir in 1962. He has served in many callings within the church including Branch President and a service mission at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. However, he found his greatest joy spending time with his family, even Aaron!
He loved road trips and always pretended like he knew where he was going. His wife, Marge, loved him enough to trust him in that. He introduced his kids to culture through music and travel. His happiest moments included Broadway music and long stretches of highway. While living in North Carolina, Ken loved to explore the US while making his way back to Utah to visit family each summer.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marge, and his four children: AnaLisa (Meg), Aaron (Karalyn), Melodie (Brandon) Toll, and Todd (Alynn). He has eight grandchildren: Tristan, Paige, Skyler, Conner, Elizabeth, Caroline, Louis, and Levi. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Florence and sisters: Joan, Cheryl Ann, and Sandy.
