Joseph Becraft Obituary
Joseph M. Becraft, known affectionately as Joe to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, in Union, Michigan. Born on September 8, 1961, in South Bend, Indiana, Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose warmth and humor brought joy to everyone around him.

Joe met the love of his life, Deborah (Eberlein) Becraft, and they were united in marriage on December 28, 1984, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Together they built a life filled with laughter and love, a testament to the strong bond they shared. Joe embraced fatherhood with pride, cherishing his children Heather (Jesse) Beery and Daniel Becraft. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Q. Becraft and Darlene (Szczypiorski) Becraft, along with his siblings Margaret (Becraft) Huff and Tom Becraft. Joe is survived by his sister, Karen Dickson, and brothers, Mike and Chuck Becraft.

An alumnus of Penn High School, class of 1980, Joe went on to proudly represent Bowling Green State University as a pitcher for the BGSU baseball team, graduating in the class of 1984. His love for the game continued off the field as he dedicated years to coaching little league baseball, influencing many young lives with his wit and wisdom.

Joe dedicated 40 years to a successful career in sales, where his charisma and humor were as much a part of the transactions as the products he sold. Following his retirement, Joe found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was perfecting his golf swing, boating on the lake, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or meticulously tending to his yard, which was always in pristine condition, Joe did it all with love and laughter. What he loved the most was spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren, Soren, Callum, Caroline, and Eliza, they were the highlight of his life.

Known for being the loving foundation of his family, Joe's comedic timing never failed to uplift those around him, bringing light-hearted moments to every gathering. Joe's life was a beautiful mosaic of laughter, warmth, and kindness. His unforgettable presence will be profoundly missed, but the echoes of his humor and love will resound in the hearts of those who knew him for generations to come.

A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 22, 2024.
