Mr. John L. Becraft, 56 of 804 Third Ave., died October 21, 1983 in St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born in Rochester, N.Y., March 12, 1927, a son of the late Leonard and Betty Meady Becraft. He came to the Utica area as a child and was educated in local schools. Mr. Becraft was employed to various restaurants in Utica and most recently was employed at Dischiavio's Restaurant. He married Concelia Ollvadese, September 18, 1939. He was a communcant of St. John's Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Concetta; two sons, Dennis and Richard Becraft, Utica; one brother, Francis Becraft and one sister, Betty Becraft, both of Utica; four grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Connolly, Jennifer and Michael Becraft; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Matt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday 7-9 and Sunday 3-4, 7-9 at the Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St. at Mohawk St.

Mrs. Concetta (Olivadese) Becraft age 86 of Utica, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born in Utica on February 12, 1921 a daughter of the late Paul and Carmella Olivadese and was educated in local schools. In 1968 she was married to John Becraft in Marcy, NY a blessed union of 15 years, until his death in 1983. Concetta was employed for several years with the Smith packing Co. until her retirement. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Phyllis Becraft of Rome and Richard and Martha Becraft of Utica; two brothers Salvatore and Vincent Olivadese, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Carmella Scalzi. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 8:00 am from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave and at 8:30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Utica.
