BeCraft, James (Jim) LeRoy age 77, of Elmira, NY passed away November 21, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at the Veteran's Affairs Hospice Unit in Hampton, VA. Jim was born July 2, 1931 in Corning, NY, a son of the late LeRoy BeCraft and Florence Spaulding. He was also predeceased by his sister June Farrand, and brother, Curtis Becraft. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Martha McCallum BeCraft, daughters Cynthia BeCraft of Hampton, VA and Linda BeCraft of Virginia Beach, VA; and most cherished grandson Jonathan James BeCraft of Richmond, VA. Jim is also survived by his dear sister, Betty Crozier, of Horseheads, NY, sister-in-law Donna Padgett and brother-in-law William Padgett of Lawrenceville, PA. Jim had many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim served in the Korean War and later owned and operated a gas station, was a partner in Western Auto, and owned and rented properties. Jim retired from JC Penney as a salesman. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, hunt and fish. He was happiest in front of a campfire with family and friends. Jim was the best husband, father, and grandfather a person could ever ask for, and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank their family and friends for all the love and support they have given. The family is also very grateful to the Veteran's Affair's Hospice Unit in Hampton, VA, where Jim and his family received the very best of care and support. Family and friends are invited to call at Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main Street, Horseheads, on Saturday December 13, 2008 from 11-1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours there at 1:00 pm. Internment will follow at Cooper's Plains Cemetery, Coopers Plains, NY with full military honors provided.

Katherine "Katie" McCallum, 88, formerly of Tioga, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at the Waters of Three Rivers Nursing Home, Painted Post, N.Y. Born Jan. 9, 1913, in Tioga, she was the daughter of Floyd and Mabel Allen Wood. She was a retiree of Corning Glass Works and a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Charles, Raymond and James Wood; and one sister, Harriet Heath. Surviving are one son, William McCallum of Pico Rivera, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and James Becraft of Elmira, N.Y., and Donna and William Padgett of Lawrenceville; one daughter-in-law, Donna McCallum of Tioga; one brother, Calvin Wood of Painted Post, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Edna Wood of Painted Post, N.Y., and Louise Wood of Corning, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Wilston Funeral Home, 18 N. Main St., Mansfield, on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Thursday, Jan. 25, with the Rev. Born in Blossburg, May 9, 1936, he was the son of William and Katherine Wood McCallum. He was an Army veteran, served during the Korean conflict, and later served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Bekin Trucking. He was a member of the American Legion and the Salvation Army. He is survived by his wife, Donna McCallum of Bloomsburg; daughters, Sharon Smallets of Mr. Carmel, Pamela [Glenn] McCaid of Addison, NY, Susan [Donald] Drumm of Bloomsburg, Candy McCallum of Wellsboro; a son, Richard W. [Betty] McCallum of Maryland; two sisters, Martha [Jim] Becraft of Corning, NY, Donna [Bill] Padgett of Lawrenceville, along with eight grandchildren and extended family in California, Lucy, Robert, Nedra, and several nieces and nephews. Hampton - Martha Mae BeCraft Age 84 of Hampton, VA passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 26, 1934 in Blossburg,PA, the daughter of William and Katherine (Wood) McCallum. Martha was married on August 8, 1954 to James (Jim) LeRoy BeCraft who predeceased her in November 2008, after 54 years of marriage. In addition to her parents Martha was predeceased by her brother, William Richard McCallum (Donna).

Family and friends loved to gather at Martha's home, where she and Jim entertained. She loved to cook, was known for her beautiful gardens, and enjoyed watching birds. Fond memories of Martha will forever remain with her daughters Cynthia BeCraft of Hampton, VA,and Linda BeCraft of Midlothian, VA. Her most cherished grandson Jonathan James (Lauren) BeCraft) ,adored great-grandchildren Conner James and Reagan Mae were the light of her life. Martha is also survived by her precious sister Donna (Bill) Padgett of Lawrenceville PA, dear sister-in-law Betty Crozier of Horseheads, NY, and a host of loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2019 in New York. Martha will be laid to rest with her husband James at Coopers Plains Cemetary, Coopers Plains, NY.
