Obituary

Mr. Ira Rudell Becraft, 84, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at his resi- dence. He will be missed by his devoted wife, Adelaide (Hartman) Becraft.

Born on February 11, 1929, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Elmer and Nora (Mercer) Becraft.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Larry, John, Tammy and Wayne, brother, Donald; six grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, Michaela Hartman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Aaron Hartman will officiate. Interment will follow Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Frederick.

Mr. Clark Hartman

Clark Joseph Hartman, 64, of Jefferson, passed from this life to eternal life with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He had a short battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 28, 1944 in Frederick. He graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 63 and had some college education. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed at Kansas, and received an honorable discharge. He was a government employee for the National Bureau of Standards and retired from the National Institutes of Health. Several part-time jobs followed his retirement and for the past three years has worked as a school bus driver, bus #335, for the Frederick County Public Schools.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Boonsboro. He served his Lord faithfully as an usher, Sunday school assistant, and most recently a trustee. He enjoyed visiting the bus children weekly. He filled his time with hunting, sports, bingo, helping his son, Jason, with his landscaping business, and his son, Aaron, in the youth ministry at the church.

He is survived by his mother, Adelaide L. Hartman, of Frederick; his wife, C. Darlene (Schroyer) Hartman, of 34 years; three sons, Jason C. Hartman and wife, Kelly, of Fairplay; Aaron J. Hartman of Jefferson; and Steve Fox and wife, Terri, of Frederick; one step-daughter, Theresa Guyer, of Jefferson; four step-grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Danielle and Delonn Knowles, of Jefferson; one granddaughter, Michaela Hartman, of Fairplay; one step-great granddaughter, Marley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Catherine Schroyer, of Middletown, Md.; two aunts, Gertrude Wumkes, of Flint, Mich.; and Frances Crockett, of Frederick; friend, Ira Becraft, of Frederick; and many other friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Pastor Ed Wade and Mr. Hartman's son, youth pastor Aaron Hartman, will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel, Frederick.

Contributions may be made to the Clark J. Hartman Memorial Fund through the Jefferson Branch of the Middletown Valley Bank.

• Her obituary was published. Mrs. Adelaide Hartman Becraft, age 95, of Frederick died on June 5, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Ira Rudell Becraft. She was born in New Market on November 6, 1924 to the late Mary Grace and Joseph Valentine Hartman.

She worked as an instructor at Price Electric for 46 years. Upon her retirement she worked at Record Street Home as a dietary aide, and remained active in the community. She enjoyed cooking and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her grandsons, Steve Fox and wife Krissy, Jason Hartman and wife Kristin, and Aaron Hartman and wife Beth, four great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Darlene Hartman. She was preceded in death by her only son Clark Hartman, siblings Gertrude Wumkes, Frances Crockett, Joseph Hartman, John Hartman, Elizabeth Schroyer, Virginia Martell, and Alma Eyler. She will be fondly remembered by many cousins and friends, especially good friend Catherine.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Keeney Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her grandson Pastor Aaron Hartman will be officiating. In accordance with county guidelines face masks and social distancing will be required.
