Gordon was born in the District of Columbia to the late Joseph R. And Helen Becraft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nine siblings, his loving wife; Margaret Becraft (2003), his two grandsons; Michael Becraft, Jr. (2021) and Steven Bruce (2023) and his son-in-law, Ronald Chialastri, Sr. (2018).

Our dad was a skilled electrician working for various companies and the union. He was a devoted Christian and loved sharing the word. He was an avid sports fan from the Washington Redskins to the Washington Capitals and the Nationals. He enjoyed horse racing and hanging out at the track with his family. Every Sunday he played cards which he always looked forward to. He so enjoyed social events and hanging out with the family and his 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. They brought him so much joy. He was so proud of all of them.

Gordon was the loving father of Mary Chialastri, Cheryl (Robert) Rowland, Gordon Becraft, Jr. (Patty), Kathy (Duncan) Bruce, Michael Becraft (wife), Crystal (James) Napora, and Jeff Becraft, Sr.
He was the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren.


Relatives and friends are welcome to visit Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville Maryland, 12540 Clarksville Pike, Rt. 108 Clarksville, Maryland 21029 from 10 am - 11 am on Saturday January 13, 2024. A Funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment following funeral service at Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike Clarksville, MD 21029.

Services were held May 28 at Donaldson Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Mentzer of Riverdale Baptist Church officiating. Interment took place in Columbia Memorial Gardens in Clarksville.
