Edward Dallas McRoy, son of the late Bud and Ollie B. Pruitt McRoy, was born on Aug. 24, 1929, in Bloomfield, Mo., and died at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at the age of 82.
Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver and had served as a city alderman for Bloomfield in 1990.
In 1948 he was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Becraft. She survives
at their home in Bloomfield.
Surviving are one
son and daughter-in-law,
Dal-las and Linda McRoy of Bloomfield, Mo.;
two daughters, Teresa Barnes and Darlene Bowling, both of Bloomfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by one great-grandson, Jeremy Tyre Wilson.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo., with Rev. Bob Holland officiating.
Internment will be at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo., with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo., in charge of all arrangements.

Gloria Jean McRoy, daughter of the late Ralph Cecil and Juanita Aliene Parker Becraft, was born in Bloomfield, Mo., on Jan. 22, 1933, and died at her home in Bloomfield on April 11, 2015, at the age of 82.
She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life.
In 1948 she was married to Edward Dallas McRoy. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2011. Surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Linda McRoy of Bloomfield; two daughters, Teresa Barnes and Darlene Bowling both of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Jimmy Wilson of Dexter, Brian Bowling, Corey McRoy, Mellisa Gigaroa all of Bloomfield, Kelsey Collins of New Milford, Conn., and Christy Hutchison of Bernie; one granddaughter-in-law, Amby Barnes of Bloomfield; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Becraft of Carlisle, Ill., Larry Becraft of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Beyer of Bloomfield, Martha Espey of Carlisle, Ill., Marilyn Gilliam and Sheila Sandage both of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Billy Barnes; one great-grandson, Jeremy Tyre Wilson; one sister, Rev. Patricia Sue Smith; and two brothers, Donnie and James Rodney Becraft.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Andy Gilliam officiating.
Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of all arrangements.
