Sayre Resident
52 Years, Dies

George William Becraft, 77, of 501 N. Lehigh Avenue, retired Lehigh Valley railroad shopman and resident of Sayre for 52 yeras, died this morning at the Robert Packer hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Becraft was born in Fort Madison, Ia., and came to Sayre as a young man. He worked as a painter for some time before entering the employ of the Lehigh, where he serves as a shops crane operator. He was retired from railroad service 15 years ago.
He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Becraft; one son, charles, at home; a daughter, Miss Louise Lynn of Harrisburg; a sister, Mrs. Etta Palmer of Sayre, and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Kolb funeral home, 126 N. Elmer Avenue, Sayre, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. heodore Johnson of the Church of the Redeemer officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery.

Dies at Age 84

Mrs. Maude Becraft, widow of William Becraft, formerly of 501 N. Lehigh avenue, Sayre, died early today following a lingering illness. She was 84 years old.
Born in Sheshequin, Mrs. Becraft spent her entire life in the Valley area.
She was a member of the Sayre Church of the Redeemer.
Her survivors include a daughter, Louise Lynn, of Harrisburg; a stepson, Charles Becraft of Sayre; a sister, Mrs. Louise Rantz, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the Kolb Funeral home, 126 N. Elmer avenue, Sayre. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
