When very young Howard Andrew and brother James Newton were adopted by
their mother's sister Mary Ellen (Frisby) and her husband John Davis. Sarah, James and Howard's mother, became ill and was unable to care for the two youngest boys. Sarah's sister Mary Ellen and her husband adopted the boys and gave them a fine home. Howard died of congestive heart failure. Charlie Bell and Janie Wynn were witnesses at Howard and Sarah's wedding.
