• His obituary was published in the Hudson Evening Register on 20 Apr 1944. Ill only a brief time Charles Poucher, 89, retired basket maker, died Saturday at his home in the town of Red Hook. Born in Pine Plains, the son of John & Sarah Houghtaling Poucher, he had made his home in Red Hook for 25 years. Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Arthur Oakes of Germantown, Mrs. Emma Swartz of Elizaville; Mrs. Stella Pegraph of Red Hook and Mrs. Fannie Hover of Wassaic; son Will Poucher, Ghent. His wife, Mrs. Ellen Poucher, died 2 years ago. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
