Mr. Earl L. Becraft Sr, 82 of Ashton, died Friday Jan 3 at home.
He was the husband of Mary Ladelia Becraft.
Born April 14, 1914 in Mount Airy, he was the son of the late Gilmore and Della Gartrell Becraft.
Mr. Becraft had served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 68 in Brookeville. Mr. Becraft was a member of Ashton United Methodist Church. He had owned and operated a barber shop in Sandy Spring and Ashton for more than 55 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Earl L Becraft, Jr. of Highland, Sandra Scoville of Woodbine, and Eric C. Becraft of Gaithersburg; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends visited Sunday, Jan 5, at the Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan 6, at Ashton United Methodist Church, 17314 New Hampshire Ave., Ashton. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mount Airy.

Funeral services for Mr. Earl L. Becraft, Sr., of Ashton, who died Friday, Jan 3, were Monday, Jan 6, at the Ashton United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Jeff Jones, pastor, officiated.
Bearers were Alden English, Steven Scoville, Kevin Becraft, Kyle Becraft, Danny Berkheimer, David Berkheimer and Jeff Berkheimer. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mount Airy.
