@obittext:GREENSBORO -- Ann Katherine Rothery Becraft, 69, of 3903 Talmaga Lane, Greensboro, died peacefully on Friday October 19, 2001, at Moses Cone Hospital after suffering long illness.
Mrs. Becraft, a native of Ellenville, NY, graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY followed by graduated studies in nursing. A registered psychiatric nurse. Mrs. Becraft, spent much of her professional career in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she taught nursing at Druid City Hospital, provided home health care, and worked at Bryce Hospital. She retired from her career while working with troubled adolescents at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, NC. She was a lifelong member of the Elks Club.
Mrs. Becraft is survived by her father, George Michael Rothery, 98, of Montgomery, Alabama; daughter, Debra Ann Cross of Montgom- ery, Alabama; son, Scott Randall Becraft and daughter-in-law, Allison Becraft of Greensboro, NC; grand-children, Meredith Lindsay Becraft and Catherine Ann Becraft of Greensboro, NC and Joanna Paige McElvy, Jonathan David Cross, and Danielle Leigh Cross, all of Montgomery, Alabama. Mrs. Becraft is predeceased by her mother, Katherine West Rothery. Of special mention are Mrs. Becraft's beloved pets, Ty and Chi-Ti.
A private memorial service for Mrs. Becraft is planned for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
