• His obituary was published in Addison, Steuben, New York, United States. Addison – Claude D. BLISS, 73, of Addison R. D. 3, died Wednesday at 12:10 a.m. at the Corning Hospital. Mr. Bliss had been in failing health for the past several years. Mr. Bliss was born in Elkland, Pa., April 12, 1875, a son of the late Alonzo Henry and Roxanna McCaslin Bliss. He was married, February 21, 1898 in Lawrenceville, Pa to Cora D. Becraft of Knoxville, Pa. and he had resided in Elkland, Bath, Lawrenceville, Pa. for the past 25 years at Addison, R. D. 3. For the past several years he had made his home with his son, Philip E. Bliss at Addison, R.D. 3 and in Presho with his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Sullivan. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had many admirable characteristics and made many friendships in this vicinity. He is survived by his widow; one son, Philip, Addison, R. D. 3; two daughters, Mrs. Tessie Sebetes of Corning and Mrs. Hazel Sullivan of Presho; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Reep of Lawrenceville, Pa and several nieces and nephews, and cousins. The body will be removed today from the Mayer Funeral Home to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sullivan in Presho, where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. from the Lawrenceville Methodist Church. Burial will be made in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. (From Kathy Sarber).
