General Notes: Husband - Resolved "Resolvert" Waldron

Resolved, son of Johannes and Anna (Van Dalsen) Waldron, was born in Haarlem, New Amsterdam in 1702. Resolved was named for his grandfather who was an overseer, burgher, sheriff and deputy sheriff to the attorney-general of New Amsterdam and one of the first settlers and commissioner of Haarlem, New Netherlands.

On May 9, 1729, Resolved and Mattie Quackenbush were united in marriage in Haarlem (NY). In 1731, Resolved moved his family to Hackensack, New Jersey where he and his wife were members of the Reformed Church. It was in Hackensack that the remainder of his children were born.

In 1751, he bought a 135 acre farm at Florus Falls in Haverstraw where he settled until his death in 1761. In his will, he divided his farm between sons John and Jacob. It is upon this land that the Waldron Family Cemetery is located.
Inscription
UNPROVEN: Resolved may have been buried in the family plot on what was once his farm. There are a number of fallen stones in the plot that are still unidentified.

Gravesite Details
Of interest, the foundation of Resolved's ice house can be seen across the road from the cemetery next to what was once called the Florus Falls.
