• His obituary was published. ALPINE, Ind. '97 Wayne Burdette Rigor Sr., 79, of Alpine, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond, Ind.

He was born June 22, 1930, to Carl Frederick and Gertrude Marie John Rigor.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1952 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

He was married to Mildred L. Bennett, who preceded him in death.

For most of his adult life he worked in construction, both in the metro Indianapolis area and in Richmond.

Survivors include three children, a son, Wayne B. Rigor and wife Frona of Indianapolis, and two daughters, Candy Star Rigor of Bulleton, Calif., and Carla Rigor of Richmond; one grandchild, Wayne B. Rigor III and wife Anna of Indianapolis; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Dewayne Johnson and Tristan Wayne Rigor, both of Indianapolis; three stepchildren, Jerry Linda Thomas and Darlene Vickous, both of Indianapolis and Frankie Daniels of Bradford, Ark.; several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including nephew Steve Rigor of Richmond; and numerous cousins, including Ronald Rigor and wife Beverly of Alpine.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a stepson, James B. Vickous; and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Valley Grove Cemetery with military rites provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
