Nimrod Barnhart, father of eight, was employed as a conductor for the B & O Railroad. One evening when the train reached the end of the line in Washington, D.C., Nimrod Barnhart was found dead in the caboose. Death was attributed to a massive heart attack. He was 54-years-old.
