Verna Mills, 85, a 60-year resident of Laurel, died Feb 7, 2004 at her son's home in New Port Richey, Fla.

Mrs. Mills was born Aug 23, 1918 in Baltimore. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Post 60 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the "Wednesday Morning Early Birds" bowling league.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mills; sister Helma Campbell; and brothers Emery, Ray and Ralph Scott.

Survivors include her son, James Mills of New Port Richey; daughter Verna Lee Frye of Laurel; granddaughters Janice Gabriel and Lee Ann Weber of Laurel; and grandsons Eric Weber of North Carolina and Daniel Weber of Laurel.
