Events

• Event: Saturday about 6:10 p.m., Mrs. Linda Popp, 23 of Campbellsburg was killed in a two-car collision on Highway 421 at the I-71 exit, north of Campbellsburg.
Mrs. Popp was a passenger in a car being driven by Mrs. Gracie Mullins Carder, 28 of Campbellsburg.
The Carder car, being driven south on 421, was struck in the right front by a car being driven by Marvin Eugene Ballard, 36 of Maybee, Michigan.
State Trooper Walter Chishlm said Ballard failed to yield right of way as he was leaving the exit.
Injured in the Carder car were the driver; Marcie Stangle, 15; Gayle Stangle, 12; Lisa Popp, 6; and Pee Wee Popp, 2.
Injured in the Ballard car was the driver, also his wife, Mrs. Julane Ballard, 35; Linda Ballard, 16; and Reba Ballard, 8.
The injured were all taken to the hospital by ambulances of District One and District Two of the Henry County Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Popp is survived by her husband, Herbert Popp, Jr.; one daughter, Lisa Popp and one son, Ronnie Lee Popp, both of Campbellsburg; her moth, Mrs. Hilda Ellis Craig, Milton; and several half brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Campbellsburg at 10 a.m. Burial was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Raymond Carter, Gerold Price, Courtland Pyles, William Popp, Bobby Paris and Kenny Coombs.
