Charles L. Mills, 79, of Laurel, died on Dec 13, 1992, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home in Laurel.

Mr. Mills was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 19th Division Infantry during World War II. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Beltsville where he worked as a messenger.

He had lived in Laurel most of his life and was a life member of the American Legion Post 60. He also belonged to the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge.

Services were held at the Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD, on Dec 16, with the Rev. Juan Rivera officiating. Burial was at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Mills is survived by two sons, Charles and Phillip Mills, both of Laurel, and one daughter, margaret Blickenstaff, of Myersville, MD; two sisters, Catherine and Vergie; three brothers, Randolph, Giles, and Henry; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 60, 2 Main Street, Laurel, MD 20707.

Arrangements were by Fleck Funeral Home.

Six people were injured, two critically and one seriously, as a result of a two-car collision at Route 198 and North Contee Road, Saturday, July 22, at 5:40 p.m., according to Laurel Police.

A 60-year old male and a 59-year old female were critically injured, a 28-year old male was seriously injured, a 41-year old male and a 17-year old female were treated and released at Laurel Hospital, and an 11-year old female was admitted for examination.

Margaret M. Mills died on July 31, 1978. She was in an automobile accident at the intersection of 198 and Old Contee Road on July 22, 1978 and was taken to University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The Funeral was held on August 3, 1978 at 2:30 with Rev. Samuel Wysong presiding. She was buried at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Laurel, MD.

Survivors: Husband Henry H. Mills, daughter Margaret E. Peele; sons Charles L. and Phillip Mills. There were several sisters and a brother mentioned.
