It is with much sadness that the family of Allen Kerr announces his peaceful passing on September 22, 2022, at the age of 97.
Allen was born in Colmar Manor, Maryland on August 11, 1925, to the late George Thomas and Anna Irene Kerr.
He was an Army veteran, having served in the 75th Infantry during the Battle of the Bulge. Allen retired in 1997 from JC Penney in Hagerstown, MD. Allen loved to travel, the Chesapeake Bay and ocean, and eating crabs.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Gertrude M. Kerr, daughter Catherine I. Randall and family, and daughter Margaret A. Brandt and family.
A private memorial service will be held in Allen's honor.

• Her obituary was published in The Herald-Mail on 28 Mar 2023. Gertrud Margaret Kerr entered into God's kingdom on March 25th, 2023, after an extended illness.
Gertrud was born to Josef and Elisabeth Gotthard Theobald on November 13th, 1934, in Trier, Germany. Known for her generosity and kindness, she lovingly cared for her late husband Allen Kerr and two poodles, Sandy and Ginger. She was talented and creative, working for years as a jeweler and more than 30 years as a beautician. She was a true friend to many of her customers.
Skilled in both baking and cross-stitch, Gertrud gifted many baked goods and pieces of art to loved ones. She was supported and loved by neighbors who were like family to her. She will be greatly missed by many.
Gertrud was predeceased by her husband, Allen Kerr, her sister Maria, and two brothers Guenther and Josef. She is survived by many nieces and nephews in the United States and Germany.
A private service will be scheduled for friends and family at a later time.
