John Howard

John Vernon Howard, 56, of Worthville, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville, Ky.

He was born Feb. 20, 1946, in Carrollton, Ky., the son of Norvin J. and Frances Becraft Webster Howard. He was a garage supervisor with the Kentucky Department of Highways at Carrollton for 32 years. He was a member of the United Methodist faith, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War era.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Sue Wright Howard; one daughter, Donna Williams of Carrollton; one son, John Michael Howard of Worthville; his mother, of Warsaw, Ky.; one brother, Everette Webster of Burlington, Ky.; four sisters, Norma Jean Grisham of New Liberty, Ky., Charlotte Adams of Glencoe, Ky., Bernadette Crawford of Covington, Ky., and Rita Sebree of Vevay; and his grandmother, Mary Osborn of Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Michael Eugene Howard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, with burial in the IOOF Cemetery in Owenton, Ky.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
