• His obituary was published in the Peoria Journal Star on 26 Apr 2009. PEORIA, IL - LeRoy C. Becraft, 78, of Peoria died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

LeRoy was born July 14, 1930, in Springfield, Ill., the son of John and Etta Shockley Becraft. He married Joyce Banks on Dec. 28, 1968, in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Barbara (Tom) Maas of Pekin, Judith Caldwell of Pekin, Jeanne Williamson of Creve Coeur and Brenda (Dave) Conover, also of Creve Coeur; and one brother, Floyd Becraft of Peoria. LeRoy had 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are several stepchildren, Ronnie Daum of Peoria, Rolland (Christine) Daum of Edelstein, Ricky (Tracy) Daum of Speer and Robert Daum of Galva; and seven stepgrandchildren.

LeRoy was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

LeRoy worked for many years for Peoria School District 150 and was a custodian at the time of his retirement, in 1996.

He enjoyed bowling as a hobby and bowled in several leagues at Landmark Recreation Center.

At LeRoy's request, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, April 27, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 265, 1704 SE Lane.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in LeRoy's name.

Endsley Funeral Home in Bartonville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
