William G. Beecroft II, 83, of 3350 Lycoming Boulevard, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly at 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 1988 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, August 24, 1905, son of William George and Fredrica (SCHMIDT) BEECROFT I. He was a retired employee of White Superior. A former member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, presently a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church in Williamsport. Bill was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years, including working with Troop 12 in Oakland Presbyterian Church. Commission member, Chairman, Exployer advisor, Scouting coordinator, and last served as a Unit commissioner. He earned many awards in scouting including Commission Arrowhead, Commission Key, and the last District Commission award. He is survived by his wife, Martha (HOGAN) EISWERT BEECROFT whom he married November 26, 1988; one son and daughter-in-law, William G. and Kay BEECROFT III of Xenia; two granddaughters, Laura and Lisa BEECROFT; one brother; two sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma, January 24, 1985. Private graveside services will be held Monday at Rose Hill Burial Park. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday in Oakland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer officiating. The Austin Richards and Raff Memorial Home is handling the arrangements.
