George Beecroft, Esq., of Kirkstall Forge Iron Works died, aged 59 years. The deceased was the father of G.S. Beecroft, Esq., one of the present members for Leeds, was a man greatly respected by his fellow-townsmen and a member of the town council for Headingley ward.
(Incidentally, this was 3 days before the wedding of Queen Victoria & Albert.)
