"Mrs. Priscilla Beecraft Carter, 87, a native of Morehouseville and a resident of Syracuse for 50 years died yeasterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Yates, 125 Hillsdale Ave. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Yates and Mrs. C.C. Born of Westbury; by two sons, Ray L. Carter of Phoenix and the Rev. F.E. Carter of Fulton, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. The funeral will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Yates home, The Rev. W.D. Golightly, officiating. The Traugett Co., undertakers will take the body to Pine Plains for burial."

"In Henry Carter's pension papers there is an affidavit stating the only record of his marriage is in a Bible and that the marriage took place in the home of Pricilla's father. As it was in Clay, I can only assume it was the home of her stepfather" [Hobart Osborn].
