Edward "Buddy" Ryland Becraft, 78, formerly of the 3600 block of Cape Henry Ave., died November 19, 2005, in Norfolk, VA.
A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Ryland and Rose Becraft. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. "Bunny" Becraft; and a brother, George Becraft. He was a retired plasterer and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Sebrell Hunt Club and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Becraft Hollowell; a step-daughter, Linda M. Barnhart and husband Kenneth of Clear Spring, MD; a daughter, Janis Becraft; a son, Doug Becraft; grandsons, Duane Duren, USAF and Harold Wayne Etheridge, Jr., other grandsons, granddaughters, nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
