Mr. Calvin T. Knapp, aged 70, Civil War veteran of Corning, died last Tuesday after a brief illness. Mr Knapp enlisted in Co H, 45th Regt PA Vols., and at the battle of Antietam lost his left arm. He was a former resident of Chatham and Tioga. His wife, Nee Mary Jane Becraft, whom he married on June 6, 1859 survives him. Three daughters and one son also survive him: Mrs George Titus of Painted Post, Mrs Peter Scott of Goodhue, Mrs Daniel H. Farrand of New Bedford, Mass, and Charles T. Knapp of Elmira, also 3 sisters, Mrs Charles A. Hackett of Lansing, PA., Mrs Alva Brock of Chatham, PA and Mrs Caroline Cole of Freeman. Funeral services were held on Friday.....
