Elizabeth Mills
Elizabeth Virginia Mills, 89, a Laurel resident for more than 70 years, died May 30, 2002 at Howard County General Hospital.
Mrs. Mills was born March 17, 1913 in Virginia, daughter of the late Elias and Edith Jenkins. She was a homemaker and a member of Burtonsville Baptist Church for 25 years. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Mills, who died in 1956, and by two daughters, a sister and three brothers.
Surviving are daughters Ruth Leisher, Myrtle Coon, Betty Coon, Edith Silvious and Carolyn Jarels, all of Laurel, and Nancy Virginia Coon of Dayton; step-children, Catherine, Randolph, Vergie, and Giles; brother William Jenkins of Baltimore; 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grand-children.
Services were June 3 at 11 a.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Ave. The Rev. Russell Jenkins, great-nephew of Mrs. Mills, was the officiant. Burial was at Emmanual United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation was June 1 and 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
