Lvara Walker, daughter of the late Thomas Clarence Burnett and Tiney Bollinger Burnett, was born on Aug. 5, 1919, at Marble Hill and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at the age of 84.
Mrs. Walker attended the A.R.K. of Hope Church in Dexter, a homemaker, and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to William Earl Walker on Nov. 23, 1935, at Essex. Mr. Walker preceded her in death on June 13, 1987.
Survivors include four sons, William "Bill" Walker of St. Charles, Nolan Ray Walker of Bloomfield, Harold "Bennie" Walker of Brownsville, Ky., and Johnny Ralph Walker of Wappapello; seven daughters, Tina Naomi Rainey of Essex, Maxine Sims of Gulfport, Miss., Barbara McMullin of Cape Girardeau, Wanda Louise Cobb of Wappapello, June Bollinger of Valpariso, Fla., Judy Duncan of Crestview, Fla., and Rita Becraft of Brownsville, Ky.; 34 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Burnett, Barrett Burnett, Boyd Burnett, and Fred Burnett; also by four sisters, Jewell Kinder, Clara Burnett, Louise Orne, and Dottie May Burnett.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. David Hardin and Rev. Karen Oldham officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
