BEECROFT, Thomas R., 77, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home.
He was born and raised in Wheeling, W.Va. and had been a resident of Bristol for the past 12 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict and worked in all aspects of education where he received five national awards for his teaching ability.
Thomas was a loving husband, father and respected by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate, Jean Beecroft; one daughter, Tanya Jean Hahn and husband, Wayne; two sons, Thomas W. Beecroft and wife, Cindie and Michael A. Beecroft and partner, Thomas K. Ridge; two sisters, Mary Lou Hickey and Magdalene Elizabeth "Terry" Fitz; seven grandchildren, David Hahn, Carrie Griggs, Melissa Hoyos, Thomas "Cody" Beecroft, Megan Beecroft, Collin Beecroft and Karisa Beecroft; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Akard Funeral Home.
