William, youngest child of Peter and Elizabeth, was baptized at the Schoharie Reformed Church on 8 February 1834. Seven years later, he moved with his parents to Morehouseville, Hamilton Co., NY. At 16, he was living in Norway, Herkimer Co., as a laborer. When he was 22, he married 19 year old, Catherine. In 1860 they lived in the boarding house of Philip and Harriet James in Wilmurt, Oneida Co., NY. By 1870, they were keeping a boarding house themselves in New Hartford, Oneida County. Their daughter was just 2 years old. Eleven of the tenants were employed in a cotton factory. William's mother, "Betsey", was also listed as living with them. By 1880, William had turned to farming and the family had moved to Ohio, Herkimer Co., NY. In 1891, William was listed in the Utica directory as the postmaster at a boarding house. The 1900 census shows the family in New Hanford, Oneida Co., NY. William was engaged in farming. Christina reports having given birth to two children with only one still living. Their daughter and her family were living with William and Christina. William died in 1909 and Christina in 1912. They are both buried in New Forest Cemetery in Utica, Oneida Co., NY.
