BRACKETT, Katherine
[NOTE: Mary Katherine, dau of Wm. & Mary Becraft, was b.ca.1870 Ind, and d.ca.1937. Fulton Co Ind Estate Index, indicates her estate was opened March 18, 1937, and closed January 31, 1939. She m. (1st) Dr. Jacob N. Rannells who d.1913; m. (2nd), October 1, 1914, Lyman M. Brackett.
Wm. H. Becraft (1840-1923) and his wife, Mary A. (1842-1918), parents of Mary K. Becraft, settled in Rochester city by 1880, with four daus: (1) Mattie "Martha J." (1866-1942, m.1885, George O. Norris (1860-1932) (Fulton Co Ind M.R.); (2) Mary C. "K.", b.ca.1870; (3) Hallie "Hallevenia", (1871-1951, m.1889, William Brubaker (1869-1953) (Fulton Co Ind M.R.); (4) Adaline "Addie", 1873-1946, (1st) m., 1891, Wm. Daniel Pratt (1864-1896), and m.(2nd), 1903, John F. Fultz (1872-1946) (Fulton Co Ind M.R.).
The will of Mary Catherine Brackett, Rochester Ind, (Fulton Co Ind Will Book "G", p. 399, dated November 24, 1928 / (-----), Codicil, February 5, 1930), asks that she be buried in
the community mausleum at Rochester Ind, beside her former husband, Dr. Jacob Rannells. Her heirs: Adeline Fultz, sister, wife of John Fultz; Martha Norris, sister, wife of George Norris; Hallie Brubaker, sister, wife of William Brubaker; Fern Keesey, niece, wife of Frank Keesey; Retha M. Geyer, niece, wife of Claude L. Geyer; Mary E. Chestnut, wife of Milo Chestnut, "and sister of first husband, Jacob N. Rannells, deceased, of Long Beach, California"; James R. Chestnut, son of Mary E. Chestnut, of Long Beach, California. Exr.: St. Joseph Loan & Trust Co., South Bend, Ind.

Mrs. Catherine BRACKETT, a life long resident of Rochester, died this morning at 9:15 o'clock in her apartment in the Haven Hotel at Winterhave, Florida.
Mrs. John FULTZ, a sister, received a telegram this morning, telling of the passing of Mrs. Brackett from Mrs. Lucille HOLMAN, who is spending the winter in the Florida city.
No particulars as to the cause of Mrs. Brackett's death was contained in the telegram which was received here. She had been in ill health for sometime, however, previous to leaving Rochester in November for Florida.
A complete obituary of Mrs. Brackett will appear in The News-Sentinel on Thursday. The body will be returned here for burial.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Catherine BRACKETT, who died at Winter Haven, Florida, will be held at the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the mausoleum. Rev. T. L. STOVALL will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Val Zimmerman funeral home, 611 Main street between the hours of 10 and 1 o'clock on Saturday, where all friends may view the remains.

The body of Mrs. Catherine BRACKETT, a life long resident of this city who died Wednesday in Winter Haven, Fla., will be returned here for burial, relatives stated today.

The funeral arrangements cannot be completed until further word is received from Florida. The deceased was born in Osgood, Ind., and was the daughter of William and Mary BECRAFT. The Becraft family moved to Fulton county when the deceased was very young, since which time she has
continued to live in this community.

Mrs. Brackett had been in ill health for several months and went to Florida in November. Her death was due to pneumonia which followed an attack of influenza. She had been bedfast however only since Saturday.

Mrs. Brackett was prominent in church and social activities in Rochester. She had been a member of the Grace Methodist Episcopal church since childhood.
Mrs. Brackett was twice widowed. Her first husband was Dr. J. N. RANNELLS, who died in 1913, and the second was Lyman M. BRACKETT, who passed away in 1928.

Survivors ar three sisters, Mrs. Martha NORRIS, South Bend, Mrs. William BRUBAKER and Mrs. John FULTZ of this city; and a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Claude GEYER, South Bend, and Mrs. Frank KEESEY of this city, who made their home with her for a number of years.
