David Clifton Becraft, 55, of the 600 block of Breeds Hill Road, passed away September 7, 2006, in Norfolk General Hospital after four years of battling cancer.• Soc Sec Num, 227-72-1196
A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the son of Hazel Becraft and the late Clifton Frederick Becraft. He was a retired Defense Tracking Ordinance Supervisor for the US Government. He played for the Sunwheelers basketball team and was a member of the M.S. Society. He was a former member of the Bricklayers Union. He was a very courageous son, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his two sisters, Judy Hudgins and her husband James and Barbara Kitchens; a brother, Paul Becraft and his wife Deborah; and several nieces and nephews, Mike Becraft, Kimberly Hudgins, Michelle Harvey, Amanda Becraft, Jonathan Becraft, Andrew Becraft, Ashley Becraft, Samantha Harvey, Daniel Harvey and Kamryn Siksay.

"My son left us today. Our Father-Mother God took his hand and led him Home. David always had a twinkle in his eye-as if he knew things we weren't aware of. The family has always been proud of David. David was faced with so many of life's challenges and met them intensely and with courage….but he always smiled with his eyes, you'd think an angel was sitting on his shoulder.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel with Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the M.S. Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
