Charles Becraft
A graveside service will be held Oct. 23 for Charles E. Becraft of Eugene, who died Oct. 18 of age-related causes. He was 82.
Becraft was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Sedro Woolley, Wash., to James and Ruth Taylor Becraft. He graduated from Sedro Woolley High School.
Becraft served four years in the Eighth Air Force and flew 24 missions in a B-17 in Europe.
He married Ethel Hall in London on April 14, 1945. The couple moved to Eugene in 1950.
Before retiring, Becraft worked 32 years at Southern Pacific Railroad.
His interests included traveling, woodworking, fishing and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Harkins of Harrisburg and Sandra Kite of Eugene; two sons, Ken of Junction City and Stan of Eugene; a sister, Hazel Hubbard; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Thursday's service will be at 11 a.m. at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home is in charge of arrange- ments.
