Jacksonville; born in Montgomery County, Maryland, July 22, 1797; emigrated to Kentucky in 1822; to Morgan County in 1833; was one of the earliest settlers of this county; was married in 1817 to Miss Anna M. Letton, of Kentucky; has by this marriage three children: Israel L., Mary Ann, wife of John Goltra, and Martha V., wife of M.C. Goltra; was married again, in 1823, to Miss Nancy Hitt, of Kentucky; and by this union thirteen children.
